Cyta launched the first 5G network in Cyprus in January 2021.The Cytamobile-Vodafone 5G network has a population coverage of 70 per cent and is expected to reach 98 per cent in around 12 months, the company said. All Cytamobile-Vodafone subscribers, individuals and companies have access to the 5G network at no extra charge.
4G/LTE started in 2015 in the towns of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos. Cyta launched the first 5G network in Cyprus in January 2021.The Cytamobile-Vodafone 5G network has a population coverage of 70 per cent and is expected to reach 98 per cent in around 12 months, the company said.
The president of Cyta Mr. Michalis Ioannidis, referring to the completion of the fastest 5G network in Europe, with 100% population coverage throughout the island, said that "this is an achievement that no other country has accomplished so far.
