One of the first privately-owned utility-scale renewable energy projects in Jordan Ma’an Solar PV Plant is a 24MW Solar PV project located within the Ma’an Development Area, to the south-east of Ma’an city approximately 200km south of Amman, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
In September 2024, Jordan’s Council of Ministers lifted the cap on solar PV project sizes, enabling large-scale installations. A notable example is a 50 MW solar power plant financed by Cairo Amman Bank and currently under construction.
