Co-funded by a grant from U.S. Mission Vietnam, the pilot project will demonstrate how energy storage can help Vietnam integrate more renewable energy into its power system to meet ambitious climate goals.
The legal framework for BESS in Vietnam is still developing, but it will likely build upon existing energy laws. The Law on Electricity provides the overarching framework for the power sector, while specific regulations will need to be developed for BESS.
